The Risk of Lifelong Learning
It’s a dangerous business… proceed with caution. Learning continuously can cause the following:
Deep and consistent competence - making you stand out in the workplace
The skills and confidence to change careers - breaking the box that you and others have put you in
Greater sense of internal validation vs external - no smart degree cap for a “lifelong” journey - just a sense of purpose & wellbeing…
We had a great session with Tomorrow University’s Co-founder & CEO, Christian Rebernik on what to do if the lifelong learner bug hits you. How to cope with all of the above and so much more can be found in the latest #AskWhy episode (you can watch on YouTube here or listen below).
AI Literacy
Mindstone’s Co-founder & CEO, Joshua was speaking at Collision last week. He covered topics such as ethics, bias, and how the gap is widening between people who are comfortable using ChatGPT prompts, and those who are not. Inequality is bad for society so this isn’t a topic we should skirt over. Josh covers this and lots more in this short clip from the conference.
Cultivate The Learning Superpower
Determination, resilience, focus, intelligence. These are all traits we associate with entrepreneurialism. But the secret superpower is a desire and capacity to learn. We listened to a great talk at Pirate Summit last week by Nea Harjanne encouraging Founders to think more like Scientists; writing up a list of hypotheses, dogmatically testing, without being too attached to them. Cultivating the learning muscle really helps with this. Check out this piece from Enterpreneur.com on how to do that.
Mindstone News
We’ve upgraded the Flow to make your learning experience more focused and relevant to your needs.
You’ll notice a change when you step into the Flow. Instead of a carousel you’ll see a preview of one piece of content at a time, that we’ve handpicked just for you. This content comes from your Library (all the cool stuff you’ve saved), or, if you happen to run out, from our rich and diverse Mindstone Library. 📚
Now, if you’ve set a Learning Objective (which we highly recommend), we’ll roll up our sleeves and prioritize your content to show you the pieces that are most relevant to your objective. We’ll also look in our own Library and pull out the best of the best related to this topic to share with you in the mix.
We like to think of it as the ‘Learning Objective’ is the North Star ✨, and the ‘Flow’ is your trusty compass guiding you there. 🧭
We hope that the new Flow will be your trusty guide in your adventure, and help you make the most of the time you have to reach your goals.
Good luck as you continue to build your learning habit on Mindstone. Thank you for your support and we’ll see you in a couple of weeks.
